About Me

My name is Dan Torrence and I live in Green, Ohio. I'm a proud father of three sons — Kyler, Brendan, and Randall — and a grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren with more on the way.

I've spent much of my life in northeastern Ohio, where I've built a family, made lifelong friends, and developed a deep passion for understanding where we all come from. Genealogy has been a major part of my life — tracing family lines, preserving stories, and connecting generations through history.

My Passion for Genealogy

Family history research has always fascinated me. There's something profound about uncovering the stories of people who came before us — understanding their struggles, their journeys, and the choices that ultimately led to our own lives today.

Through genealogy, I've traced family lines across multiple generations, worked with historical records, census data, and old photographs, and connected with distant relatives I never knew I had. It's a hobby that combines history, detective work, and a deep love for family.

This website is a small corner of the internet where I share a bit about my family, remember loved ones we've lost, and stay connected with people who matter to me.

In Memory of Laurie Torrence

My beloved wife Laurie passed away on August 23, 2024, after nearly 38 years of marriage. We were married on August 16, 1986. Laurie was a dedicated teacher who touched countless young lives throughout her career. Her warmth, wisdom, and love for her family are irreplaceable, and her memory lives on in everything we do.
